Somia is building the infrastructure layer for the wellness economy - connecting studios, members, and brands through a three-sided marketplace powered by loyalty and financial products. We're pre-launch, moving fast, and looking for a Founding Engineer to build it with us.

This is a hands-on, 0-to-1 role. You'll work directly with our founding team to architect and ship our core platform: the member-facing app, partner portal, payments infrastructure, and the agentic tooling that ties it all together. If you want to leave fingerprints on every layer of the stack and help define how AI-assisted development gets done at an early-stage startup, read on.

How you'll make an impact

• Architect and build the MVP across mobile, web, and backend - from member experience to B2B partner dashboard
• Own core payments and rewards infrastructure, including integrations with financial services partners
• Leverage agentic development tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, etc.) to ship faster and smarter - and help establish best practices for AI-assisted engineering across the team
• Collaborate with our product and design leads on tight feedback loops with early Beta users
• Make foundational decisions on stack, tooling, and team structure that will scale with us
• Be a key voice in how we hire and grow engineering as we raise and expand

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience
• Strong track record shipping production-grade mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications
• Comfortable owning distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks end-to-end
• Hands-on experience with modern agentic dev tools and AI-assisted workflows
• Prior experience in payments, fintech, marketplace, or health/wellness is a strong plus
• Thrives in ambiguity, moves with urgency, and sweats the details that matter
• Must love dogs
